Logon Studio Not Working On Windows 7 64bit

Mar 6, 2010 9:10 PM by Discussion: Stardock Support General

I installed LogonStudio on my Toshiba Satellite laptop which has Windows 7 Home Premium, 4Mb of memory, 64-Bit OS, and a fast processor.

After the install through Impulse with no error message nor any problems with the install visually, I ran Logon Studio and tried to apply one of the logons that comes with logon studio. After clicking the apply button, Logon Studio takes you to the logon screen of ones computer to see the applied logon, but nothing changed, it did not apply the selected logon. Each time I applied any of the logons nothing happens, its still the Microsoft logon screen.

I dont know what the problem is and I hope some one here can help me with issue.

Thank You

How to skin Yahoo Messenger 10

Feb 28, 2010 4:10 AM by Discussion: Skinning

UpDate! This only works when windowblinds is off and one is using windows 7 themes, I thought I found the a fix, but i was mistaken, sorry.

I upgraded to the new versions of Windows 7 and WindowBlinds 7.01, and Yahoo Instanst Messenger 10, and after all the new upgrade were installed I notice that yahoo messenger 10 was not skinned by WindowBlinds 7.

In older versions of yahooo messenge all one had to do to cause yahoo to be skinned by windowblinds was to click on messenger on the yahoo interface and then click preferences, and then select the classic skin to allow yahoo to be skinned by window blinds, but in the new yahoo messenger 10 there is no place to choose the classic skin.

So all i did was, go to start menu, then to programs, then to my yahoo folder, then I right moused clicked the yahoo icon, and then I clicked on compatablity tab, and then I checked the box next to disable visual theme, and then apply, and that cause my yahoo messener version 10s interface to be skinned by windowblinds 7.

I hope this helps other yahoo messenger 10 users.

Skinning yahoo Messenger 10

Jan 25, 2010 7:43 AM by Discussion: WindowBlinds

I have upgraded to the new versions of  windows 7, windowBlinds 7.01, and Yahoo Instanst Messenger 10, and now notice that it is not skinned by WindowBlinds 7. I know in older versions of yahooo messenge all one had to do was select the classic skin to allow yahoo to be skinned by window blinds, but in the new yahoo messenger 10 there is no place to choose the classic skin. So I am turning to the wincustomize community for help with this issue.

I have already tried to add yahoo messenger to the windowBlinds per application section with no positive results. Does any one here know how to cause windowblinds 7 to skin yahoo messenger 10? if so can you please show me how that is accomplished?

Thank you

WindowBlinds 7 Start Menu

Sep 15, 2009 5:59 AM by Discussion: WindowBlinds

I was wondering if window blinds 7 will allow users to customize how the Icons will be displayed on the Vista start menu. I think it would be a great Idea if icons displayed on the start menu could have an option to be displayed like on windows XP start menu.

In XP start window one could see all start menu icons for My documents, My Pictures,
My Music, My Games, My Favorites, My computer and so on, displayed on the start menu.

I do not if this is a featuer that any one at Stardock as thought about or if any one has mentioned a feature like this or if others would also like to have it, but I was wondering if window blinds 7 will have such a feature that allows Vista start menus to look and operate like an XP start menu.

Just wondering.

WindowBlinds Designed by Stardockdesign

Sep 15, 2009 5:39 AM by Discussion: WindowBlinds

I have some WB's designed by Stardockdesign's that do not work properly, when any Stardockdesign WB is applied that has any part of it that is areo transparent always shows as solid in the parts of the design where it should be transparent. This only happens with skins designed by Stardockdesign.

Has any one else experienced this issue, and if so, is there a fix for it.

I have WindowBlinds 6.1 Build 92 x86 Vista Eddition Version.

My computer information is: Window Vista Home basic, Service pack 2

System: eMachine
Model: T5088
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.20 GHz
Memory (RAM) 2.50 GB
System Type: 32-bit Operating System

Is there something I can do to resolve this issue with stardockdesign windowblind's that have transparent parts that only display as solid.

Thank you

Aaron

I was once able to skin yahoo messenger 7.0 by selecting the yahoo classic skin in the yahoo messenger change skin dialog. Once that was done when ever I change a windowblind skin, the gui would also be applied to the yahoo messenger interface as well.

After upgrading to the new version of yahoo messenger build (8.1.0.249) yahoo messenger no long skins, while in the classic skin theme, no matter waht skin is applied with WindowBlinds 5 (5.5 (build 94 x86).

What I would like to know is there any way to cause the new version of yahoo messenger 8 to skin with windowblinds 5? If so can some one show me what I need to do?

Thank you.

I was wondering does any one know how to create metal meshes like the one called Perforated by micky200, here is the link.

https://www.wincustomize.com/Preview.aspx?Source=micky2005/bootskin/3610.jpg

I really want to learn how to create this effect, and if possible how to create it in corel draw or macromedia fireworks, or ps2, also what would be the name of such a technique so that I can do more searching on this topic.

Spacing and sizing scrollbars and account elements

Sep 16, 2005 10:45 PM by Discussion: OS Customization
I was wondering if any one here knows how to add spacing between the user
accounts and the scrollbar so that the accounts are not like they are stuck
right against the scrollbar.

I also would like to know if any one knows how to add spacing between the
user accounts them selves so that they do not look like they are
stacked right on top of each other?

Also could any one tell me how does one change the size of the scrollbar
graphics, like the up and down buttons and the slider thumb and the
bitmap that the thumbs move on top of?

I hope that someone knows how to do any of these changes, it
would help me a great deal when designing logon screens.

And just one more question, does anyone know, what type of script is being used in the UIFile?

I would really like to learn the program language.

If you would like to take a look at my first logon screen it can be
viewed at this link: http://firstliight.wincustomize.com/ViewSkin.aspx?SkinID=5193&LibID=26&comments=1

I am working on my new logon screen, but I need to know the answers
to these questions before I can finish it.

Thank you

UIFile Script

Sep 15, 2005 9:14 PM by Discussion: OS Customization
I am trying to learn how to become better at designing Boot screens, Logon Screens, Window Blinds, and other XP skins.

I would like to find out the name of the type of script used in creating skins in logon studio, or logon screens and other skins.

No one seems to be able to answer this question.

Does any here know what the programming language is for writing logon screens UIfile?

I would like to learn the scripting language, but I don’t’ know the name.

The same language seems to be used in boot skins and window blinds as well.

I hope you can help me or direct me to some one that knows what the UIFiles script language is.

Thank you
